Service and neutrality of the group permit to get in touch with the characteristics of the original peoples, including the perception and understanding of nature and of life in community.

The task of the Network-of-Light group of Paraguay on the 19th of October with the destiny of the city of Luque, about 15 kilometers from the Capital Assunción was to visit the Indigenous Community Tarumandymi, where about 150 people of the Ava Guarani ethnic group live.

“In the month of April, we received a request of the Virgin Mary to visit some indigenous communities of the region of Assunción and of Ciudad del Este”, explains Faustina, the coordinator of the Network-of-Light of Paraguay.

Many contacts were made with the leaders and members of the communities to see what places had the most needs, perceiving the different degrees of poverty and the reality of each one. In the case of the Tarumandymi Community, the only more structured building found was a little school for the children. It was also detected that in the place there were many sewing machines, but there was no cloth for the people to use them.

Many members of the 46 families of the community live on alms begged on the streets during the day, and the men use to work with servers of building, getting little financial resources.

In the visit of the 19th of October, the Network-of-Light group made the donation of packages of cloth, clothes, footwear, toys and painting material. The group also assembled a tent that cheered the children who received the gifts.

Besides this region near the capital Assunción, the Network-of-Light of Paraguay has been organizing three-monthly visits to indigenous communities in the region of Ciudad del Este.

According to Faustina, the group is currently leaving its commodity and feeling the awakening that takes place in stages. She explains that its indifference concerning these indigenous peoples used to be almost complete.

“We perceive that what they like the most is to share and Interact. Because the majority just deliver donations. We hug the children, learn their names, look in their eyes, smile. We will certainly perfect the work as we pay more visits”, concluded Faustina.

“There are beings that protect the indigenous consciousness in the planet; they are guardians of purity and simplicity and they zeal that they do not disappear from the human heart”.*
