The Network-of-Light group of Fortaleza, capital of the state of Ceará, Brazil, has participated in the Project Paginas Solidárias (Solidary Pages), with the donation of books written by the instructors José Trigueirinho Netto and Mother María Shimani de Montserrat, at a commercial space of the city.

The Project was an initiative of the Shopping Center Aldeota, and had the intention of fostering in people the habit of reading and of solidarity. All the books that participated were donated and remained available free of charge for the public for several weeks in an area of the Mall. People could donate, read, or take a book home.

Diffusion of the instruction

Two members of the Network-of-Light group of Fortaleza participated in the task, and they picked from the other members new and used books to be donated to the project. The group uses to collaborate with donations of books in prisons, public and itinerant libraries, thus collaborating for the diffusion of the spiritual instruction.

“We found it interesting to participate, for it is an opportunity of disseminating the philosophic-spiritual teaching, as it is a project that fosters reading and the access to books with no cost”, said Gabriela, a member of the Network-of-Light of Fortaleza.

On July 28, 13 books by Trigueirinho and Mother Shimani were donated. The reading seems to have awakened the interest of people “Eleven days later, on August 8, we paid a new visit to the space and we saw that there were only 4 books left”, explained Selma, of the Network-of-Light of Fortaleza.
