caes_vac_porto_alegre2Seventh city of the Circuit South of Brazil to receive the itinerante launch of the second edition of the book ‘Viver o Amor aos Cães’ (‘Living the Love for the Dogs’), the gaucha capital was the scenery of an important event, on May 19, 2016, in the Livraria Cameron Bookstore. The event gathered more than 70 people, among NGO’s, individual protectors and politicians who are actively working in defense of the animal cause.

In the event, there were groups and people from several cities of the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre, such as Viamão, Canoas, São Leopoldo and Alvorada do Oeste.

One of these groups, the ‘Animais, Eu Respeito’ (‘Animals I respect’), from de region of Canoas, shared a tale with the coordination of the Network-of-Light of Porto Alegre. They told them that their members were conducting works of animals rescue in an individual manner, until there happened a great flood in the region. In that occasion, one of them got a boat and the others approached to help. They moved in the whole flooded area rescuing cats and dogs. Since then, the group remains united until now for the animal cause.

On May 20, the authoress of the book, Ana Regina Nogueira, and her team conducted a meeting with about 60 children and principals of the School Immaculate Heart of Mary. The authoress talked a lot with the children, who participated during the whole event.

caes_vac_porto_alegre4‘I think there was a broadening in the awareness of everyone who participated in the book launch for the responsibility that we, as humanity, have for the kingdoms of nature, especially for the animal kingdom. I felt that many felt alleviated in learning that there is a bigger movement that in a way gives support to what each one does, individually or in small groups, in behalf of the animal kingdom. It is very good to see the beginning of the materialization of the request made by Christ to the Network-of-Light group of Porto Alegre on April 15’, said Claudete Calvi Meinerz, a member of that group.
