Facing the Planetary Transition

A humanitarian action is the reflection of a change of paradigm towards fraternity and peace, from the perspective of the action that is carried out, as well as of the one who executes it. It will always be a challenge, but what becomes even greater is the challenge of dedicating to selfless service, as well as to the tasks of prayer and study in a country like Venezuela, located in the American continent, in the North of South America, currently immersed in a complex political and social situation, which affects everyone equally.

“In this situation of the country, it is not easy to continue the service. We have to face strong family situations and, among other things, to accept the separation of close relatives and of some people who used to support this work”, expresses Natasha Guerra, the coordinator of the Network-of-Light of Venezuela. She adds: “To us, in this crisis, it is very important to express all fraternity we have understood, and live it, giving love and peace to our fellow beings”.

What does the Venezuelan Network-of-Light do?

Several years ago, the Venezuelan Network-of-Light – by means of Teresa Maia, one of its members – with the collaboration of other people, has been working for the rescue, the rehabilitation and healing of the Animal Kingdom. Teresa Maia is the regional coordinator of the Network-of-Light in the city of Coro, in the region of Edo, state of Falcón, located in the Northeast zone of this country.

In May 2018, amidst an intense crisis in the country, a dream was fulfilled: that of acquiring a space to shelter street dogs in deplorable conditions. Being able to acquire a piece of land, thanks to the collaboration of the Planetary Network-of-Light, the workers themselves and other collaborators began a new project, called: “Home of the Furry Ones of Light”. In this refuge, the animals receive a treatment that warrants them a better life quality, a lot of love, food and periodic bath. In addition, under the responsibility of Dr. Erika Marques, a faithful collaborator, the volunteers have journeys of castration, sterilization and healing.

“Due to the current situation, there are thousand of dogs in the streets, and due to the lack of resources, we can only keep 52 dogs in the refuge. We also collaborate with individuals who protect animals in their homes, while others perhaps, in despair, throw them to the street”, comments Teresa Maia.

Other fronts of service

In Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, today more tan ever groups of prayer continue operative for the Kingdoms of Nature, humanity and the Universe. As Network-of-Light, they accompany individuals and organizations who ask for this support in an attempt of satiating the despair that involves daily a great part of the Venezuelan population. Furthermore, they visit the children’s hospital and other hospitals, to the extent that is possible as the respective management sectors restrict access to organized activities outside their control, even if they have a humanitarian character.
