The Nucleus-of-Light of São Paulo has been for several years performing activities with the children of Carapicuíba, town of the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo, Brazil, 29 kilometros from the Capital of the state.
The work takes place once a week every Thursday, when the volunteers meet the children at school and take them to the Nucleus-of-Light.the children, from 6 to 14 years old, participate in moments of prayer, chants, cultivation, weaving loom, story-telling, reading, among others.
In a recent activity of story-telling, the children listened to the tale “the Empty Pot”, which tells the story of an Chinese emperor who, to choose his successor, organizes a challenge to see who best takes care of a pot with a seed planted. After listening to the story, the children had the opportunity of experiencing it, taking home a pot with a seed planted by themselves.
In another activity with the children, the reality of the refugees of the war in Syria was shown to them, followed by a discussion about the subject and then a prayer with the whole group. All the food served to the children during the activities is healthy.
The work with children at the Nucleus-of-Light of São Paulo has been a request of the Universal Mother. “What stimulates us the most is to know that it is a request of our Mother and that she teaches us to work in cooperation and a group spirit. We feel this through the syncronicity in which everything happens”, says Claudia Rimini, a volunteer of the Nucleus.
