With the participation of 26 people, the Missionary Experience of July 2016 has begun. The opening meeting was held at the night of this Sunday, 24, at the House of Mary Rose of Peace, headquarters of the feminine group of the Missionaries of the Fraternidade – International Humanitarian Federation, who are in charge of the organization of the event.
This time 14 permanent missionaries and 12 volunteers share the experiences of humanitarian service – most volunteers participate for the first time – and enrolled for this month. The activities will be developed along the week, both in the Community-of-Light of Figueira and at social institutions of Carmo da Cachoeira and other nearby towns, in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil.
On Monday, 25, the tasks will concentrate on the House of Hosting, a place recently inaugurated by the Fraternidade – International Humanitarian Federation, to offer support to people who live on the streets. In this place, loaned by the Municipality of Carmo da Cachoeira, the participants in the Missionary Experience assist the needy who arrive and conduct services of maintenance, painting and gardening.
On Tuesday, 26, a part of the group will go to the town of Nepomuceno, where they will render services at an orphanage and at the house for elderly people of the Group of Samaritan Ladies. Another part of the participants will do works in the Hut of Saint Joseph, a place in Carmo da Cachoeira where the Missionaries distribute products of donations (clothes, footwear, furniture, home articles, etc) to poor people.
On Wednesday, 27, in the morning, the Missionary Experience will be held in the Marian Center of Figueira, in the Park of the Kingdoms of the House of Light on the Hill and in the House of Hosting. In the afternoon, all of them will watch the study of Trigueirinho.
On Thursday, 28, there will be a visit to the Christian Association Betesda, in Varginha, a masculine house for beings in the process of recovery from drug use. Also, a group will participate in a ‘mutirão’ (voluntary group service) in the Community-of-Light of Figueira and another will serve in the House of Hosting. In the afternoon, an attunement of prayer is scheduled in the House of Saint Joseph (masculine headquarters of the Missionaries) with all the participants, at the hour of the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy. Afterwards, the feminine volunteers will go to the House of Mary Rose of Peace to share the weekly meeting with the women of Carmo da Cachoeira.
The schedule continues on Friday, with the preparation of the Hut of Saint Joseph for the exhibit of distribution of products that will take place the following day, Saturday, July 30. There will also be a visit to the House of elderly people Saint Vicent of Paul, in Carmo da Cachoeira, and services in the House of Hosting.
On Saturday, a part of the volunteers will assist the people who will attend the exhibit at the Hut of Saint Joseph, while another part will pay home visits in Carmo da Cachoeira and a group will serve in the house of Hosting. In the afternoon, they will watch the ‘sharing’ of Trigueirinho.
