First day of Emergency Chile Mission

The group left the headquarters of the Fraternidade – International Humanitarian Federation – in the city of Carmo da Cachoeira, Minas Gerais, Brazil, early in the morning.

Still in the morning, the team embarked in São Paulo bound to Chile.

Around 8 p.m., Brasilia Time, the missionaries arrived in Santiago de Chile, the capital of the country, where they were received by the Network-of-Light group of Chile.

The missionaries will be lodged in a House of Retreat, from where they will leave every day for the missionary tasks.

At the moment, 18 countries are collaborating in fighting the fires in Chile: Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, South Korea, Spain, United Arab Emirates, United States, France, Japan, Mexico, Peru, Russia, Ukraine, Uruguay and Venezuela. Altogether, they add up to 600 brigadiers, including specialists in catastrophes.

The Chilean population is also mobilized and more than 11 thousand civilians are in action in the zones of catastrophe.
