Charla "Amor en Acción

The Fraternidade – International Humanitarian Missions (FIHM), through the Colombia Mission, had a meeting in the cities of Rio Negro and Medellin, in Colombia, on February 21 and 22, to present the work that the organization does in the country and in the world and address the importance of aiding those most in need.

The proposed activity gathered together people that were interested in becoming familiar with the services provided by the Fraternidade Missions (FIHM) and by associated organizations such as the Service Associations for the Kingdoms of Nature and the Light-Communities.

The history of the most recent Humanitarian Missions was presented, especially in the Colombia Mission, where a team of missionaries are active, predominantly with the Venezuelan immigrant population that are very vulnerable in the city of Bogota, capital of the country.

Today, Colombia is the country that takes in most of the Venezuelan immigrants. According to data of the United Nations (UN), around 1.6 million Venezuelans are in Colombia. For this reason, the missionaries joined with other organizations to help in the prevention of inequality and vulnerability for refugees.

During the meeting, a public talk by José Trigueirinho Netto, the founder of Fraternidade – International Humanitarian Federation (FIHF), was transmitted, where the philosopher talked about the subject of the Missionary Task.

During the two days of the meeting, 18 people participated in the activity, creating possibilities for growth in the theoretical and practical qualifications for those who are interested in volunteer, humanitarian, and altruistic service.
