Talk about the Kingdoms of Nature

The group of Youth Campaign for Peace of Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, together with members of the Network-of-Light held a recycling workshop on behalf of the Animal Kingdom in July 2018. The activity had the participation of 54 children and teen-agers, students of the NGO “Centro Cultural Oficina Reciclável” and residents of the neighborhood of Calabetão, in Salvador.

At first, the group encouraged a talk about the cares that the human being should cultivate for the Kingdoms of Nature. During the discussion, excerpts from the program Music for the Healing and Uplitment of Humanity were exhibited, portraying aspects of Nature.

In the second part, for those who were touched by the topic, a workshop was offered, on the making of troughs for street dogs and cats.

Troughs for dogs and cats

The participants reported that the activity was very beneficial and instructive. They considered important the idea of the troughs, because many dogs drink contaminated water on the streets, and now will have the possibility of drinking clean water.

“Today I learned to look after animals and nature. And I liked it very much. I also learned to make a trough for dogs and cats”, commented the student Andreia, 11, after the workshop.

The art teacher Ana Elisa Improta conducted the activity of drawing of tubes (troughs), which were made with permanent pens and crayons. The teacher explained that the drawings help the community understand what it is all about and, consequently, respect and preserve the troughs, located in public places.

Children and teen-agers participating

The group of Youth for Peace and the members of the Network-of-Light of Salvador intend to conduct monthly activities with the youths of Calabetão, focusing on the Kingdoms of Nature. The action had a result: the health unit of the neighborhood invited the Youth Group for Peace to duplicate the activity in its precincts.

The student Andreia concluded: “Let us look after nature and the animals! I have reflected that, even if we do not like animals, we must treat them well and love them”.
