“When the disciple is ready, the instructor appears”

Every once in a while we come across a great portal, that is, we face a new cycle in our life. It is useless to try to enter these portals by force: we are to cross them, if we want to, when they are open before us – which only happens when we are really ready for the new stage. Here applies the same principle that may be observed in immutable laws, according to which principle “when the disciple is ready, the instructor appears”.

The story of Hercules

We generically say that there are three evolutionary stages of individuals. The first is the stage of those who have not yet awakened to the existence of the soul or the higher self; the second is the stage of those who are open to this reality and behave as beings in evolution; and the third is the stage of those who consciously live in the light of this soul, and know, therefore, that they are reincarnating beings.

The story of Hercules narrates the basic cycles of the experience of the individual soul: first, its evolution in matter, in the phases in which it identifies with realities of the denser levels of consciousness; then, comes its phase of struggle in the physical plane, in which, at a certain point of its evolution, it begins to detach from the collective consciousness of the masses; at last, come the stages of realization by  means of a development assumed in an increasingly conscious way throughout life.

We are all Hercules

We are all Hercules. We can identify our own falls, resumptions and positive experiences through his twelve known works. We can seek to recognize ourselves  in the stages of involution, of struggle and of realization and perceive that the adventures lived by this legendary hero correspond to the phases of our evolutionary process.

In the story of the mythological Hercules, there is a passage in which the hero, as he is being prepared for his adventures, dialogs with his instructor. The instructor, who has more experience and is inside Hercules, responds that he will discover his own soul as he gradually fulfills his tasks. The instructor then asks him who are his parents. Hercules, passing the test, answers that his father is divine, although he does not know Him, but he knows very well that he is His son. As for his mother, he believes she has a terrestrial origin and knows her in depth. Are we, then, divine and, at the same time, terrestrial? We live, simultaneously, a human life and another very different life in internal levels, until these paths are absorbed in a single synthesis. However, it is still not the majority of human beings who manifest the life of the soul in the passage on the Earth.

We invite the reader to reflect, in order to reach new understanding

We invite the reader to reflect, in order to reach new understanding. To us, to reflect about a matter that is obscure to us means to visualize it from the greatest possible number of angles, without, however, reaching hasty conclusions concerning it. After considering various aspects of the problem, we withdraw the matter from the mind and surrender all the visualized material to the deepest levels of our consciousness. From this point on, there emerges, without our creating expectations of any kind, the comprehension that we did not have before.

But what is necessary to do for the instructor to present to us? When we can no longer slow down our steps or refuse to love the Truth and, neither can we surrender to the forces of inertia, separateness and selfishness, it is a sign that the instructor is becoming visible to us.
