On May 21 and 22, a group of missionaries connected to the Fraternidade – International Humanitarian Federation, conducted the second mission of humanitarian help to the indigenous communities of the region of Chaco, located in the Northeast area of Argentina.

missao_chaco_segunda_9Participated in the group two monks of the Grace Mercy Order, a resident collaborator of the Community-of-Light of the Brotherhood (Cordoba, Argentina), and various volunteers members of the groups of the Newtork-of-Light of Argentina from the regions of Corrientes, Paso de los Libres, Cordoba and Formosa. All of them worked together with the group of the local Network-of-Light of Resistencia.

missao_chaco_segunda_2On the Saturday, 21, the tasks were conducted in the Community of Margarita Belén and on Sunday in the neighborhood of Mapic, in the city of Resistencia. In both communities, the group was received with great enthusiasm. Between January and February 2016, a group of twenty-one missionaries of the Fraternidade conducted the first mission in the region, which lasted for about fifteen days and assisted hundreds of people.

missao_chaco_segunda_4‘We perceived a greater confidence and receptivity compared to the first mission. We had a great interaction with the children during the various activities we undertook, and which developed with a lot of joy and harmony. Some children took us to their families, introducing their parents and brothers or sisters, spontaneously generating an opportunity of our establishing a connection with them, who remained more reluctant’, said Patrícia, Coordinator of the Missionary Group of the region of Chaco.

During those days, the missionaries conducted several tasks and playful activities, such as games with the children, washing and haircut of children and adults, and distribution of clothes.

missao_chaco_segunda_1The group also had the opportunity of serving the Animal Kingdom. In the community Margarita Belén, 78 dogs were vaccinated and 88 in Mapic. The vaccines were against internal and external parasites.

At the end of the activities in each community, the missionary group shared a meal and said good-bye with music and praises.

‘Under the humble conduction of Saint Joseph and the protection of our Mother and Jesus Christ, we lived two fraternal days, with the joy of being able to share in unity with our brothers and sisters. Their hugs, caresses, laughter and pure looks nurture us and and move us to keep on the missions’, said Patrícia.
