Monday 5 thru Sunday 11

During the week the missionaries continued the support to the distribution of clothes for the refugees at Caritas Hellas, in Athens. The distribution took place in two days of the week, one for the women and the other for the men. About 60 refugees, who represent their families, attended each distribution.

The missionaries conducted activities in a house lent by the government of Greece to a Moroccan immigrant who has four children. At the request of the Missionaries of Charity of Mother Teresa of Calcutta, the group conducted works of cleaning and painting, as the place was in precarious conditions. Besides the missionaries of the Fraternidade – International Humanitarian Federation, some refugees also collaborated in the task.

A new partner
The group of missionaries of the Fraternidade was contacted by an association that helps abandoned animals, offers food to poor people and also distributes clothes in the locality of Lagonisi, 13 km from the missionary base of the Fraternidade.

“They learned about our work and asked for help to organize a deposit with a great amount of donated clothes. The distribution takes place once a week, on Saturday mornings. The deposit was very disorganized, full of things, and we focused our efforts on putting the place in conditions for the distribution of the clothes. This group will probably be another partner of the activities of service here in Greece”, explained Shen, a missionary of the Fraternidade.
