Field of higher evolution

In general, homes lack the energy quality needed for souls to make use of them as a field of higher evolution. Even in those which still manage to remain organized, there is the habit of only looking after material evolution and the maintenance of standards established by society, which are frustrating for souls. In this way, the ones that have to fulfill universal and encompassing tasks on the physical plane need contact or co-existence with nuclei that do not share family bonds, where the opportunity is given for them to dilute the exclusive blood affinities and to liberate from attachments.

Concerning relationship in the family group

Concerning relationship in the family group, let us take into account some behaviors that might facilitate co-existence, that is, in a spiritual sense. One of them would be the individual being responsible and careful with family members, as well as with the other creatures, avoiding special affections and imprisoning attachments that traditional habits and culture stimulate. Another behavior would be not to reinforce conflicts derived from the fact that family members have different interests or paths, which is common in the disorder of current times.

Fraternal spirit

As a large part of families functions as a school of perfecting and an opportunity of purification, it is probable that, if one of its members acts in an unprecedented way and out of the standards of the majority, they may irritate the others and provoke the latter’s antagonism, whereas the former should evoke and develop impartiality and neutrality. In this way, they will more easily avoid conflicts, and the legitimate fraternal spirit may prevail and express itself in an increasingly universal way.

Family bonds are not necessarily limiting, but it is rare when they are not. One of the few examples known of members of a family that helped one another in a way that was free from the need of human experiences was that of Sainte Therese of Lisieux. Therese’s parents, who had profound spiritual aspirations, had nine children, of which only five, all women, survived; and all of them joined a life of consecration to God. By the characteristics that the members of that family, without exception, showed, we can see they were a group of souls dedicated more to the expression of higher spiritual energies than to the satisfaction of desires or to the fulfilment of projects of a personal, material and external nature.

The institution of family should play the role of first instructor

In ideal terms, the institution of family should play the role of first instructor of the individual that comes to live in it, preparing them to find their own inner regency and to recognize the part that is their due in the progress of the world. Nevertheless, in general, families are incapable to fulfill such role, and the being finds more obstacles than facilitating aspects to perceive universal realities in the affective and in the spiritual fields.

Family, as an institution, is carrying a heavy weight, hard to solve if its members remain on a level of bonds of mere affinity or rejection. A part of the current problems of relationship in families derives from this; it also comes from the fact that as a social group it has lost its meaning to many.

Spiritual life

Currently, when institutions created to help inexperienced beings break down (such as families, religions, the state and others), it is necessary to have the real need to arrive at an effective spiritual life to start this quest for oneself and with minimal external support.
