The group began work in the animal hostel of Rancagua.

The hostel has an extension of 10 hectares and was lent by the City Hall to give support to the animals victims of the fires. Nowadays, there are 40 animals, including 19 that have been assisted. The cases of animals with lighter burns stay in the hostel and are treated by veterinarians and other collaborators. The most serious cases are referred to a clinic of the University of Chile, in military regiment.

In the hostel, the first evaluation is done. Many animals with burn legs and other with wounds in the face, eye, muzzle and other parts of the body arrive. The expectation is that another 80 animals arrive in the hostel.

The group helped the cleaning and the building of new corrals. The missionaries helped making a tent where a voluntary veterinarian will attend to the animals, built a fence in one of the corrals and covered some corrals with tiles to protect the animals from the sun and the rain. The missionaries also helped organize the kitchen and the ambulatory where the medicines and all the material of attendance for the treatment of animals are kept.

The group also helped fight a focus of fire that arose in the place.
