The Tibetan Park Schools of the Community-of-Light of Figueira and of the city of Carmo da Cachoeira, in Minas Gerais, Brazil, conducted fraternization. It took place on Saturday, 15, and allowed closing the cycle of activities of 2018.

Since early hours of Saturday, December 15, in a festive atmosphere, the yard of the Tibetan Park School of Carmo da Cachoeira was the scenery for a fraternization meeting where the artistic presentations gathered students, parents, representatives of institutions, collaborators and friends of both schools. The result: a fraternal feeling that projected a beautiful enchanted garden full of joy, cooperation, hope, and love. A garden in which the elves (represented by the children’s musical band of the Tibetan Park Schools) inspired the event, the ladybugs, represented by the youngest girls fluttered their wings among the flowers and the sunflowers (girls and boys of the schools) illumined the whole yard with their color and energy.

Beginning with gratitude

The opening of the fraternal meeting was conducted by sister Inmaculada Concepción (a nun of Grace Mercy Order) and by the teachers Joana Christo Liu and Luciana Guimarães. The three of them are the coordinators of the school of the city, who, through their words, warmly received those present, making clear to all the importance of the assistance and support of each one. Their interventions expanded a wave of gratitude that marked a deeply-felt and enthusiastic beginning. In this way, they proceeded to the schedule of the day.

A preamble from a real story

A “Christmas Tale”, written by Tainá Floret, director of the Tibetan Park School of the Community-of-Light of Figueira and by sister Juana de la Cruz, a nun of Grace Mercy Order who teaches at that school was the preamble for the play scheduled for this day. The tale, narrated by its authors and inspired on Christmas, presented a beautiful recreation of the historical fact of the birth of the child Jesus.

“… The Sun shone, the light of the Cosmos could be seen. All the kingdoms, the flowers, the devas, and the atoms revered and thanked the coming of the Master Jesus. I am the Sun…I am the Sun”. (last words of the text).

Thus the central topic of the meeting was reached, a brief but motivating story called: The Christmas Sunflower. According to what sister Inmaculada, was dedicated to the production team, commented, they selected this tale for the Christic values that are evident in it. “The Story touched our hearts a lot, because to us, this sunflower represented the heart of Christ that we all have”.

Once upon a time

A kid who, in his simplicity, was resistant to cooperating with his mother in a request that she had made to him. As time went by, the kid began to respond to an energy that he felt, which urged him tochange his attitude. He willfully asked for help for the cultivation that he decided to carry out. The first efforts did not bring the expected result. Those around him, immersed in their worlds, refused to collaborate, but he continued sowing more love in his heart, as well as the simple wish to make an offering to his mother. In this way, the days continued.

A good day came when a young girl of golden hair like the sun approached and lovingly gave him some seeds, which he sowed, and took care of them with patience, hope, and enthusiasm. When December 24tharrived, a sunflower sprang from the earth, which sought the light of the sun. Surprised, the kid joyfully and gratefully received it. Immediately, next to this sunflower another one appeared, and then another one and in this way, what at the beginning was some sunflower seeds became a sunflower garden, which grew into a beautiful yard that the kid gave as an offering to his mother. A garden full of virtues. Everything attained for having cleaned his heart, for having seen the sunlight like the sunflower. As the soundtrack of the story says, “I am also a little Sunflower, I look for the light of God, and I am happy in this way”.

A circle of joy

With this peace that impregnated the area, the sunflowers and ladybugs began their singing with the audience to the rhythm that the musical band of the elves marked. Naturally, both children and adults, little by little, moved to the center of the yard, creating a great circle of joy.

“I am very happy to be here because I have sung, I have laughed a lot and played with the kids of my school and the other school from here. We are all friends, and I am also happy because this was the text that I acted best because it was the best I have ever learned”, expressed San Tiago Rulf, 8, who studies in the 3rd grade of the Tibetan Park School of the Community-of-Light of Figueira. He featured the boy with the golden heart in the story.
