Qual é a origem do medoQuestion:
Does anything apparently frighten you? Are you afraid of being robbed? Are you afraid of death? What is the cause of your fears? Are they related to the events? Seeking external safety can solve them?

Answer:
There are many apparent causes for fear. And we attribute our fears to many causes that are all of them apparent and none of them is the origin of fear. There are people, for example, who are afraid of being robbed. This is probably not the origin of fear. Because you may be robbed and not have fear at any moment, neither before, nor during nor after the assault. The fear is there. The fear has nothing to do with what happens. The things may happen no matter what and you may be without fear. Neither before, nor during nor after the experience. Fear comes because you have lost contact with your inner center of security, this is why you have fear.

Fear is, among other things, the result of mental activity misdirected. When the mind is oriented to the higher goal of existence, it softens or does not even arise. We might say that the ignorance about what we really are in essence makes fear arise. We almost always see ourselves as isolated individuals, and not as cells of a single Life. But as we donate ourselves out of love to some cause or altruistic service, we become aware of the existence of a Greater Universe, and fear begins to dissolve.
