The House of Light on the Hill, affiliated to the Fraternidade – International Humanitarian Federation, has conducted ophthalmological assistance free of charge to the population of the town of Carmo da Cachoeira, Minas Gerais, Brazil. The activity took place on Tuesday, the Brazilian national holiday of November 15, at the headquarters of the charitable entity, located in this town of Minas Gerais.
The services were conducted by Dr. Sylvano Fioravanti, ophthalmologist from the city of Varginha, Minas Gerais, who has been collaborating with the House of Light on the Hill for three years, assisting poor people once a month. The professional explained that in these services simple consultations are offered, such as the evaluation of the need of glasses or adjustments in degrees or other basic cases.
The service took place in the ophthalmological van that the House of Light on the Hill possesses for ambulatory procedures. On this day, 15 people were assisted, all of them residentes in Carmo da Cachoeira. The procedures began at 9 a.m. and extended until noon.
Internal causes
The problems in the physical eyes have an inner cause: they are due to the resistance that the person has to see the reality that their spirit presents, to awaken and to transcend the illusion of material life, assures the spiritualistic philosopher José Trigueirinho Netto, co-founder of the Fraternidade – International Humanitarian Federation.
In lectures conducted in the Community-of-Light of Figueira, Trigueirinho has affirmed that the physical sight represents our way of seeing things, our outlook at life, at our path, at spiritual Law. “If in some moment we refuse to see something that our consciousness has already indicated, the physical sight is altered, in the short, medium, or long run. It is as if it received the reflection of our attitude”.
According to Trigueirinho, “when a person begins inner transformations, transformations in consciousness, and firms themself on the spiritual path, this reflects in changes of situations and can interrupt degenerative processes and illnesses of physical sight”.
