The Missionary Youth for Peace, a movement of the Youth Campaign for Peace that encourages youths to elevate their consciousness by means of acts of charity and of solidary help, will develop activities in the State of Santa Catarina, on June 29, in Camboriu, a city located on the shore of the State, and on June 30, near the capital of the State, Florianopolis.

Supported by Fraternidade – International Humanitarian Federation, the Youth will carry out events, for the first time, in the Marian Center Sanctuary of the Creation, in Camboriu, on June 29. The rich schedule includes activities with the cultivation of seedlings of native species of the Atlantic Forest and union attunement with the wood, water springs and cascades. The idea is to awaken in the participants stronger bonds with nature and, thus, activate a greater consciousness for the preservation of the environment.

Activities will also be offered in Camboriu that fit the daily routine of the therapeutic community Viver Livre, which currently shelters 104 patients that seek to get rid of chemical addiction. The detoxing program, according to Viver Livre, last about nine months, but from the sixth month the patients can already visit their families, when that is the case. The daily program of the community, in which the Missionary Youth will participate, includes tasks of cleaning of precincts, gardening and animal care.

The Marian Center Sanctuary of the Creation was founded recently (November 2018) and follows religious and ecumenical principles, of preservation and selfless service to the Kingdoms of Nature.

On June 30, the activities will be in the Yakã Porã village, of the Indigenous Land Morro dos Cavalos, near Florianopolis. The village is located by the BR-101 highway and is currently inhabited by families of the Mbya Guarani ethnicity, forming a community of approximately 50 people. The Florianopolis Light-Network, also affiliated with Fraternidade, has acted a few years ago in the Itaty Village, on of the three that comprise the Indigenous Land Morro dos Cavalos, with food donations. The proposal, as a group task to be carried out by the Missionary Youth, is to prepare the terrain for the implementation of a communitarian vegetable garden, which will supply the population of the village.
