The first meeting for training for the missionaries of the Light-Network Center and the Youth for Peace, both affiliated with the Fraternidade – International Humanitarian Federation (FIHF), took place in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on the 21st and 22nd.
On Saturday the 21st, there was the presentation of the training module that was done in Lanus, the southern part of the Greater Buenos Aires. The objective of the material on theory was to introduce the 60 participants to the principles and attitudes of the profile that a missionary of the Humanitarian Fraternidade (FIHF) must have. Ricardo Baumgartner is the core missionary in charge of providing this training in Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay.
On Sunday, the participants and missionaries performed general maintenance tasks in the same place where the material on theory had been taught.
The participants met in teams to carry out different tasks: renovation of the space and restoration of the walls damaged by humidity, painting with special paint; sanding and painting the bars with special anti-rust paint; organizing and tidying up the kitchen; preparation of the food and prayer.
“That day of training was very well organized, everything was almost perfect, except for the abundant rain,” says Ricardo Baumgartner.
According to the organizing team for the training, all the participants had their tasks flow very harmoniously. “They said that they were really surprised; they said that they thought the training would be the same as other trainings, and to everybody’s surprise, everything was very superior,” said the organizing team.
