From July 8th to 10th was held the Third Meeting of Permanent Missions in the Qom Communities in the Chaco region, in Argentina. Members of the Network-of-Light Argentina, collaborators and monks of the Grace Mercy Order participated.
Members of the Argentina Network-of-Light came from different locations, such as Corrientes, Córdoba, Formosa, Misiones, Salta and Tucumán. This team joined the local Network-of-Light group from the city of Resistencia plus six others volunteers.
On July 8, the group settled in the House of Jesus of Nazareth where they worked the selection of clothing, goods and the distribution of various tasks.
On Saturday July 9, the activity was in a Qom Community in the locality of Tirol , where the group met with St. Joseph’s Parish servers to fix breakfast for the children. Then they carried out various activities, such as washing of hair, lice removal service, hairdressing, games and songs. It was held also an important task of service in dentistry and dental prostheses, since the community is very lacking in this area. Many dogs also received attention from the group, where vaccinated and dewormed.
On Sunday the works were performed in a Qom community of Costa Ine, 40 kilometers from the city of Resistencia. There the missionaries helped in renovations of windows and doors, shared games with children, offered seeds for cultivation and also provided dental care and helped the dogs. A lunch was shared at the home of one of the families of the community.
There were also moments of prayer in Spanish and in the original language Qom.
‘May this permanent mission in Chaco continue giving its fruits and may unity manifest between the peoples’, said Fray Francisco, a monk of the Grace Mercy Order.
