An event made by young people for young people, with the intention of celebrating peace and fraternity. This is the goal of the 9th edition of the Youth Festival for Peace, to be performed for the first time in Salvador, on July 28, 2019, at the Bahian Medical School- Brazil.
According to the organizers, the idea is that the participants can appreciate different types of artistic expressions that reinforce the message of peace, alternated with moments of yoga, roundtable, ecumenical prayer and vegan nutrition.
For young musicians interested in participating in the Festival, the registration will be open until July 5; poets, photographers, artisans and plastic artists will have until July 15 to sign up. The announcement and the form can be found on the website festival.juventudepelapaz.org. The proposals must be copyrighted and be aligned with the principles that guide the Festival, such as, the respect for nature’s kingdoms, ecumenism, culture of peace, and higher awareness, among the most important ones.
The Festival initiated in Florianópolis, in 2016. Held every 3 months, in an itinerant way, it has passed through Rio de Janeiro, Recife, Belo Horizonte, São Paulo e Buenos Aires. All the initiatives related to the Festival are free and carried out by volunteers.
Campaign
The youth Festival is part of the Youth Campaign for Peace, an ecumenical movement supported by the Fraternidade – International Humanitarian Federation, which aspires to raise the consciousness of young people and awaken in the hearts the principles of common good through the spiritual pursuit and fraternal actions.
The campaign also encourages the formation of local youth groups that work throughout the year in their own cities, in cooperation with the environment, animals and the community.
Admission is free and the event is free of alcohol and smoke.
