The Missionaries of Peace of the Fraternidade – International Humanitarian Federation, left last Monday, January 19, for Turkey. In that country, the group will engage in humanitarian missions in different refugee camps. This is the ninth International Mission of humanitarian help of the Fraternidade.
Monday morning started with great movement at the headquarters of the Federation, in the town of Carmo da Cachoeira, Minas Gerais, Brazil, when fourteen Missionaries of Peace did the last checking of the equipment and all the baggage for the 23 days of mission in the Middle East.
The Missionaries of Peace will cross all of Turkey by bus and will render humanitarian help in refugee camps that border Syria and Eastern Europe. According to the UN Agency for refugees, more than three million Syrians are refugees, making this the biggest humanitarian emergency of our age. Currently about one million refugees need help and many of them are now facing a rigorous winter.

Puppets, play dough and drawing materials will be used.
The Missionaries of Peace who comprise the group are of different nationalities, have different areas of knowledge and all of them have experience in international Missions in places like Brazil, Asia or Africa.
Before leaving on the bus that would take them to the airport, the group participated in a meeting of prayer. Everyone was very confident and feeling very responsible for the importance of the task that they were initiating, and relied on the prayers and union of all the people connected to the endeavor. “Pray for all of us and for what will happen, and may Christ reach all these souls”, said Imer before leaving.
“May you be in Peace because we are leaving in Peace and taking the group’s Peace. We are ready, prepared and taking Christ, Mary and Saint Joseph in the heart”, said the Missionary of Peace Clara before embarking the bus.
At eleven p.m., at the same time that the procession was being started in the Hill of Apparitions, in the Marian Center of Figueira, for the Meeting with the Most Chaste Heart of Saint Joseph, the group was leaving for this next mission of peace.
On January 20, the Missionaries of Peace were already in Ankara, the capital of Turkey and tomorrow they will have a meeting with the Brazilian ambassador in the country.
