Missionaries of the Fraternity – International Humanitarian Federation concluded last Wednesday, November 11, another donation of food in the town of Carmo da Cachoeira, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Eggplant, onion and sweet potato were distributed to the population.the donation is part of the permanent missions that the group fulfills in the region.
The mission started in a farm in Palmital, five kilometers from the town of Carmo da Cachoeira, where five missionaries of peace and three volunteers of the community of Figueira participated in the harvest of eggplant.the cultivation would be completely lost, for the preparation of the soil for another crop, but it was donated to the group by the farm owner. In total, six hundred kilos of eggplant were harvested.
Besides the eggplant harvested, more donations of onion and sweet potato were added, coming from other places. All was distributed in the asylum, hospital, school and districts of the town of Carmo da Cachoeira.the total amount distributed was 600 kg of eggplant, 400 kg of onion and 200 kg of sweet potato.
