An intense inner cry of the youths for Peace on Earth. This may be the best definition for the Youth Festival for Peace that took place on July 29, Sunday, in the Ciudad Park of Buenos Aires, Argentina, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

In its seventh edition, the event was the first to be held outside Brazil, marking a stage of international connection among the youths that integrate this movement. The Youth Festival is part of the Youth Campaign for Peace, which, in its essence, intends to activate in the consciousness of the youths the sense of spiritual reencounter with their inner essence, by means of music, art, prayer, humanitarian service and love for the Kingdoms of Nature.

A characteristic of the Festival of Buenos Aires was its high musical quality. This affirmation concerns not only the aspect of fine technique, but also to the messages of love and peace present in the presentation of each group or individual singer.

The Festival had the participation of musicians from Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Uruguay. In the matter of diversity of styles, the Festival fulfilled all wishes: presentations of Indra Mantras and Dhaas Devotional Melodies brought devotional impulses of Eastern spirituality. The instrumental group Aqualactica brought the beauty of an authorial style that transited between the classical and the progressive. And in the end, the Chilean singer Romina González conducted all the public present to a state of profound Christic connection.

To be Hospitable

Another important moment of the event was the round table, which made a reflection about the attribute of the meeting: “To be hospitable with all”. The starting point of this debate was the sharing of the missionary experience of youths in places of acute planetary need.
According to Friar Thomas, of Grace Mercy Order, one of those responsible for the accompaniment of the Festival, the principle of hospitality is the main aspect of the Youth Campaign: “The teaching of the great beings that walked on the Earth is very clear. Christ taught us that we are all brothers and sisters, united by the same divine filiation, regardless of culture, religion, or nation. What matters is the reencounter with the other in the spirit of fraternity and love, to see diversity as something that embellishes being together and the recognition that the collective quest for good, for peace and for the elevation of consciousness returns to us the human capacity to transform the world”.

Art gallery

Another point of radiation of the culture of Peace in the Festival was the art gallery, which showed different works, such as mandalas, paintings with different techniques and even a photographic exhibit about looks of Peace. Following the tradition of previous editions, the Festival of Buenos Aires had its closing with the Ecumenical Communion, offered to all those present by the monastics of Grace Mercy Order.

The Youth Festival for Peace has two transmissions via Mercy Mary TV: at 11 a.m. and at 5 p.m. (Time of the country in which the event takes place). The meeting is organized by the youths themselves and has the support of Fraternidade – International Humanitarian Federation and Association Mary.

The eighth edition of the Festival will take place in São Paulo, SP, Brazil, in October of this year.
