On Friday, 12, students from the audiovisual sector of the Federal University of Roraima (UFRR) conducted an interactive work with the immigrants of the shelter, with the exhibition of a film followed by a debate, and registered photos and videos for the production of a material that will be exhibited in the future.

The daily meetings with the mothers continue. The group tries to convey the attitudes of the maternal energy and to guide about cares with the children.

The Mother’s Day in the CRI – Center of Reference for the Immigrant – was celebrated on Saturday, 13. Donations were made for the women and activities of artisanship were conducted. The Warao women presented a dance, cakes were distributed and then they participated in the celebration of a mass in a church of the city of Boa Vista. In the afternoon, the shelter received the visit of members of the Universal Church and the Assembly of God, which celebrated the Mother’s Day and participated in moments of prayer with the missionaries of the Fraternidade – International Humanitarian Federation.

The number of Venezuelan immigrants of Indigenous origin increases and women with children resumed the practice of begging for alms by the traffic lights near the Fair of the “Passarão”, in the city of Boa Vista. The Civil Defense of Roraima removed the immigrants from the places, because asking for alms with children is forbidden.

“The increasing number of immigrants arriving demands from us, as the Fraternidade, a more intense activity, an effort, to coordinate the welcome, the food provided, the health situations that present themselves”, said Imer, a missionary of the Fraternidade.

On Monday, 15, the last Venezuelan immigrants that were part of the list of those who must leave the place did leave the shelter. The decision was taken weeks before with the Civil Defense of Roraima, to preserve the order in the place. On the same day, hundreds of immigrants from Venezuela went to the headquarters of the Federal Police in Boa Vista to have documents made.

New families of Venezuelan immigrants arrived in the shelter on Wednesday, 17. The missionaries made the enrollment of the new sheltered people and rendered dermatological medical assistance.

Missionaries of the Baptist Church of Belo Horizonte visited the shelter and conducted drama and circus presentations.

On the 18th, the missionaries participated, in the city of Pacaraima, in a meeting with a United Nations mission, UNHCR and representatives of the Brazilian Federal Government.

On Friday, 19, donations of provisions were received and a missionary of the Fraternidade conducted a class on oral hygiene for mothers and children.
