Partnership with the Quentinhas do Bem Veggie Project

Quentinhas do Bem Veggie is the new project taken on by the House of Cristo do Bem, (House of Christ of Good) an affiliate of the Fraternity – International Humanitarian Federation (FIHF). The project was envisioned by Elis Freitas and Bernardo Dantas, and executed by a group of volunteers; they all gather together on Sundays to cook and distribute 280 warm meals in the neighborhoods of Rio de Janeiro to the unassisted population. The partnership with the House began on Sunday, March 23, and has the help of the Well Done Project, which offers 100 carryout warm meals, totaling 380 distributed meals each Sunday.

Delivery of Basic Baskets and fresh produce to the House of the Child.

On May 14, the House of Cristo do Bem (House of Christ of Good) made a large delivery of basic baskets and fresh produce to the House of the Child, an institution located in the city of Duque de Caxias/RJ. At this time, the House of the Child takes care of around 136 children, from 3 months to 12 years old, coming from situations of social vulnerability, providing an alternative for shelter, food, and education.

The Solidarity Campaign continues to produce results – 120 Basic Baskets distributed

On the first Thursday of May, the 6th, another great campaign for the distribution of basic baskets was done. In all, 120 kits were delivered to registered families. The Solidarity Campaign continues to bring results thanks to the contribution of volunteers, donators and collaborators of the House of Cristo do Bem (House of Christ of Good), who believe and have confidence in the purpose of the institution.

Delivery of Basic Baskets, bed linens and other items at the Ribeirinha House of Rest

On the holiday of May 1, the House delivered materials and basic baskets to the Ribeirinha House of Rest, an institution active in the city of Seropédica, a metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro. The Ribeirinha House of Rest supports elderly people in a state of social vulnerability and on the street, who are ignored by the public authorities at an age when they have the greatest need of support from the state.

ATUKUMA Project

The ATUKUMA Project, one of the main ones of the House, has a new visual identity and began its activities on June 10. In partnership with the CREAS Rio Comprido (Specialized Reference Center in Social Assistance), the Project aims to assist in the development of young people and adolescents by training more aware and responsible individuals. In all, there will be 10 youths who will benefit from this. Among the activities of the project there are: Environmental Education, Choir, Bread Making, and various workshops.
