The Elders of the Asylum São Francisco de Paula, in the town of Carmo da Cachoeira, Minas Gerais, Brazil, participated in a lunch at House Light on the Hill last Friday, November 20.the happening had the collaboration of the Missionaries of Peace of the Fraternity – International Humanitarian Federation, who provide humanitarian service once a week at the asylum.

Sixteen elders participated in the lunch.the event started when the Missionaries of Peace transported the elders of the asylum to the House Light on the Hill.they gradually felt at ease and soon participated in the moments of relaxation when all sang together. Some elders used wheelchairs and others walked with a lot of difficulty. During the whole lunch, the elders were also accompanied by monks of the Grace Mercy Order, who served and took care of the guests. At the end of the visit, they all participated in a prayer.

This was the first time that the elders of the asylum visited the House Light on the Hill.they have clearly stated that they intend to return other times. “It is a joy for us to welcome the groups of people and realize that they may find the Peace that exists here”, says Marilene Passos, of the secretary of House Light on the Hill.
