Figueira Light-Community, affiliated with Fraternidade – International Humanitarian Federation, has already defined the programming of the workshops to be promoted in the IX Festival of Organic and Biodynamic Seeds of the South Minas Gerais, to be Held on July 27, at the institution’s headquarters, in Carmo da Cachoeira, Minas Gerais (Brazil). There will be a total of twelve simultaneous workshops.
It is the first time that the Light-Community Figueira organizes the Seeds Festival, an event held in partnership with the Biodynamic Association, Emater – Minas Gerais, the South Minas Organics and the South Minas Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology (Unconfident Campus).
The twelve workshops to be presented in the morning are the following:
Astronomical Agriculture |Syntropic Agriculture | Seeds and Spirituality | Seed Production and Participatory Improvement of Horticulture: Spirituality, Freedom and Autonomy for Farmers | Importance of Creole Seeds in Indigenous People |The Seed and the Biodynamic Agriculture| Natural Agriculture| Ecological Soil Management | How to Set Up an Artisanal Food Agroindustry | Caldas and Organic Composting| The Potential Of SPGs for the Production, Preservation and Multiplication of Seeds | Women, Seeds and Sovereignty.
The event includes breakfast and vegetarian lunch, all free and prepared by volunteers of the Light-Community Figueira, in addition to the afternoon schedule.
The opening of the IX Seed festival will be at 9am, with presentation of the Light-Community Figueira Choir. After the workshops the participants will be invited to visit the sustainable agriculture areas of Figueira. The event will continue in the afternoon in the Central region of Carmo da Cachoeira, where organizers will promote a fair of donation and seed exchange. The closure, still in the city center, is scheduled for 6pm.
