February 17, Saturday

The rain was present in Tartagal, awakening restlessness in the Fwolit Indigenous community, due to the danger of new floods. Nevertheless, the preventive measures already put into practice, such as the digging of new detours, and the wall that is being built, protected the houses a lot. Only a few houses raised in terrains with great unevenness had some problems, but they were promptly helped by the missionaries.

Contemplating the wet nature

Despite the rains, the group continued to fill the bags with sand and to build the protection wall. In the meanwhile, the children and women protected themselves in the temple. A breakfast with hot chocolate, bread and cookies helped relax the atmosphere. Little by little, some recreational activities with the children and the dialog begun with some ladies ended up dissipating the concerns. When the rain stopped, several children ran to play with the ponds.

The proprietor of the hostel where the missionary group is lodged joined the volunteer group service aimed at building the contention wall.

Donations continued arriving, which were selected and wrapped for their distribution.
