In the first few days after the collapse of the dam, missionaries of Fraternidade – International Humanitarian Federation reached the region, offering support to the public agencies and the fire department, continuing there for over a month, providing psychological support for the victims and families and service for the rescued animals.

Since then, the Mission remains on a recurring basis, where a group of volunteer missionaries carries out activities locally, at this time in the re-building of a house that caught fire, besides continuing with the therapeutic help, currently to 35 families, 13 of them with family members still missing – and in tasks with the local fauna.

Action, welcome, love, and hope guide this work as elements in the rebuilding of lives.
