The <\/span>Youth Campaign for Peace, by means of the Youth Group for Peace of Belo Horizonte, state of Minas Gerais, Brazil, promoted a study last December 20. It was conducted in the Children\u2019s House, an extension of service of the <\/span>Nucleus-of-Light<\/a> of Figueira Sacred Sky. The study, named \u201cThe Gospel of the Soul\u201d, was imparted by monastics of the <\/span>Grace Mercy Order<\/a> and had a main topic: \u201cThe history of Christ alive in one\u2019s own inner kingdom\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

The talk began exposing three ways of interpreting the Sacred Scriptures: under the historic, the theological and the mystic\/mythical point-of-view. The study investigated the mystic or mythical, that is, the point-of-view based on symbols.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

According to the spiritual philosopher <\/span>Jose Trigueirinho<\/a> Netto, a symbol is\u00a0<\/span>\u201cThat which holds non-apparent meanings, with which it relates through analogy\u201d. The following aphorism attributed to Hermes Trismegisto was remembered during the study, and highlights the analogic aspect between the different dimensions of reality: \u201cWhat is below is a reflection of what is above\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the <\/span>Esoteric Glossary<\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>entry \u201cSymbol\u201d, Trigueirinho informs that the indications of symbols can be understood in different ways, depending on the evolutionary degree of who contacts them, and on the level of consciousness in which they are treated. For this reason, it is deceitful to fix their meanings. The philosopher concludes: \u201cWhat reveals the content of a symbol is intuitive perception, direct, non-rational knowledge, reached through silence\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Contact with the teachings of the Gospels can reveal aspects of one\u2019s own inner world and recover understanding of the symbolic character of material existence itself. The parables narrated in the New Testament, for example, are metaphoric stories that reveal mechanisms of spiritual asceticism and higher laws, that rule the evolution of beings.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the study, there were explanatory videos about two parables of the mercy of the Gospels: The Good Samaritan and The Prodigal Son. The parables shown in the videos revealed multiple keys of interpretation of \u00a0symbols from these evangelical passages.<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the proposals of the Youth Campaign for Peace is to help youths find again a spiritual meaning for their lives. Thus, the study contributed to sharpen the youth\u2019s perception regarding the relationship between instruction and the practice of the teaching in daily living.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fabiana Te\u00f3filo, a member of the Youth for Peace Group, commented, \u201cThroughout the day we face situations described in the parables of Jesus. With the study, there was an expansion of consciousness: We reflected and changed our attitude before the situations of life\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n
