From the spiritual point of view, common life is considered a desert.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As it obeys patterns established by the state of consciousness of the majority, it is a life characterized by inertia, by a tendency to yielding to what is comfortable, by the seeking of comfort and of material goods, by desire and the satisfaction of several kinds of apetite.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This desert, which is the life of many, seeks to perpetuate decadent, dated structures. Sensations, especially pleasure, help maintain the consciousness imprisoned to this state. It is a life in which the appearances determine the options and not what is inside the people, things, events. We can see this desert spread in the daily news programs. They stay in the surface of the facts, do not show the causes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">And this desert, this common life, deludes people, promises them happiness and well-being based on material things, in personal tastes. And all this is quite mutable, very fleeting. When people obtain something, they already want something else, as they do not know their true necessity. Thus, this common life is the continuous cause of sufferings.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>To go in another direction<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fraterinternacional.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/escultura_areia.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-70034 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fraterinternacional.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/escultura_areia-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.fraterinternacional.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/escultura_areia-200x112.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.fraterinternacional.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/escultura_areia-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.fraterinternacional.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/escultura_areia-400x225.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.fraterinternacional.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/escultura_areia-600x337.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.fraterinternacional.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/escultura_areia.jpg 690w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>When an individual decides to take a different attitude, to go in another direction, to rise, the forces that compose the structures of common life try to dissuade them from their decision. The structures to which they dedicated themselves try to retain them. They keep reminding them of the past, which uses to exert a great influence in many. The Biblical story of the woman who became a statue of salt; as it looked backwards, she crystalized.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Even if we do not know<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is important to know that we gradually liberate from this desert when we practice detachment. Regardless of what we are attached to, we seek to loose that, free ourselves and become independent from what binds us. Let it continue, if continue it must, but we let go of everything that detains us. We find forces for that when we seek a higher goal, even if we do not know exactly what it is. We must let ourselves be attracted by this higher goal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To leave this desert, it would be an illusion to expect help from what is institutionalized. What is institutionalized feeds on common life, and is an instrument of the desert. We would have to be a different voice amidst all that.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There is a teaching, which we find in the series of Agni Yoga Books (Agni Yoga Society), which refers to a treasure destined to all. In common mentality, it is believed that this treasure is money, which are material goods that we would have to look for. But Agni Yoga tells us that this treasure is what is closest to us. In the desert of common mentality, the intention of heeding the teaching is not kept, neither of finding the treasure. Few persevere and have it as the most important value in their lives.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>How to be a voice in the desert?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Humanity needs a strong impulse to leave common life. How to help it do it, how to be a voice in the desert?<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Tirelessly do what is necessary<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Every day we find things out of place, in disharmony. We must, tirelessly, put them in order. And if we see them out of place again, we must tidy them again.
