\"\"<\/a>The Humanitarian Roraima Mission<\/a>, a campaign conducted by the Fraternidade \u2013 International Humanitarian Federation<\/strong>, will begin a new form of assistance to the Venezuelan refugees that are in the North of Brazil. It will stop focusing on the refugees that live today in the Center of Reference to the Immigrant (CRI) and will be available to support all of them who are in different cities in the State of Roraima.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

The change will be valid from next April 15 on, when the Secretary of Civil Defense of Roraima will deactivate the CRI, a temporary shelter for the Venezuelan refugees located in a city gymnasium of Boa Vista since December 27, 2016, and which counts with the cooperation of the Fraternidade.<\/p>\n

In this new stage, the Fraternidade will assume the administration of the program of help to the Venezuelan refugees in the State of Roraima, and will begin to offer provisions, clothes and support for their documentation in the Brazilian territory. For this, it will open a house in Boa Vista, capital of Roraima, where the immigrants will be allowed to come seeking assistance.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\u201cWe are facing a new challenge that will demand the support of all those who wish to participate in this task, whether as a volunteer, or with their material or financial collaboration\u201d, highlighted Ricardo Baumgartner,\u00a0one of the managers of the Fraternidade and responsible for the sector of Missionaries of the institution.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>In a meeting celebrated on March 3, the coordination of Roraima Civil Defense communicated to the Fraternidade that it began the demobilization of the CRI, where more than 200 immigrants are sheltered, most of them Indigenous of the Warao ethnic group. The natives will be displaced to different Indigenous settlements of the State of Roraima and the non-Indigenous will be legally incorporated to the Brazilian job market.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt seems that the process is being conducted in an adequate way. In the case of the Indigenous, it counts with the accompaniment of FUNAI (National Indigenous Foundation), with the objective of supplying a space where they can find adequate housing and conditions to develop their activities of artisanship, cultivation, hunt and fishing\u201d, highlighted Ricardo.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor the non-Indigenous people, the procedures are being done with the Federal Police, for the legalization of their stay in the Brazilian territory, what will allow them to obtain legal permission to work in Brazil. Most of them are young, and with great willingness to work\u201d, he continued.<\/p>\n

This new phase of the Humanitarian Roraima Mission will continue to count of the support of the missionaries of the Fraternidade, the\u00a0monastics of the Grace Mercy Order<\/a> and of volunteers of the Roraima Network-of-Light<\/a>. The assistance to the immigrants will not include lodging anymore, but will include the other basic necessities. It will also continue to support the Warao Indigenous people that are displaced in Brazilian Indigenous communities.<\/p>\n
