On March 28, the second stage in the Cycle of Training on the\u00a0Sphere Handbook<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>was completed. The course was organized by the\u00a0Fraternity \u2013 International Humanitarian Missions (FIHM)<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>in partnership with the\u00a0Light-Community of Fleur-de-Lys<\/strong><\/a>, located in Portugal, and in the same way as the first module, it was transmitted online, respecting the recommendations of the\u00a0World Health Organization (WHO)<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0for the prevention of the new Coronavirus (COVID-19).<\/p>\n

Besides the members of the\u00a0Light-Community of Fleur-de-Lys<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0Colombia Mission<\/a>,<\/strong> members of the Light-Network of countries such as Brazil, Argentina, Nicaragua, Austria, France, and England were also able to register and participate in the training at a distance.\u00a0 There were more than 600 people from 17 countries that learned from the Sphere Handbook, a basic guide for humanitarian activity.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis information is important, as we need to be imbued with this knowledge that is the basis for a humanitarian response, and enables an organization to coordinate with others, generating an integrated and more effective response,\u201d explains Priscilla, missionary of the\u00a0Fraternity \u2013 International Humanitarian Missions (FIHM)<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and coordinator of the\u00a0Colombia Mission<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Sphere Handbook establishes principles and basic norms for humanitarian organizations in the face of conflicts and technical aspects related to some basic lines of action, which are Health, Security, Food and Nutrition, Shelter and WASH (water, hygiene, and basic healing).<\/p>\n

Priscila, one of the enablers of the training, explains that the content of the guide, which has more than 600 pages, helps organizations to be more prepared. \u201cApart from where the mission will be and under what conditions, the\u00a0 Sphere Handbook<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0has universal norms and standards based on the rights of every human being,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
