The Humanitarian Roraima Mission, conducted by the Fraternidade – International Humanitarian Federation, in help to the refugees from Venezuela in Brazil, will receive a new impulse: a second group of missionaries arrives today, November 17, to the city of Boa Vista, capital of the Brazilian State of Roraima, to assume the work and continue the task that the first group began on November 3.

The new team left at night from the Fraternidade Headquarters, in Carmo da Cachoeira, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Eighteen missionaries compose the team, including four nuns from the Grace Mercy Order (of the Monastery of the Daughters of the Christic Charity). The members of the first group return today to their places of origin.

Inner Call
“To me it is an honor to be part of thhis mission and to have the opportunity of serving God”, commented Nancy Rodríguez, a voluntary from Caracas, Venezuela, before leaving. She, besides being part of the missionary group. Is the first Venezuelan who will be living and serving in the Nucleus-of-Light of Figueira in Roraima.

“I had never volunteered for a task like this, I felt an inner call, made contact with the Federation, they told me I could come and here I am, open to serve in whatever is necessary, commented Daniela Boaventura de Moraes, a doctor and the coordinator of the Network-of-Light group of Belo Horizonte.

To Viviana Walsh, from Buenos Aires, Argentina, this will be her first participation in a humanitarian mission. “I feel great joy and much gratitude for being able to participate in this mission, but I try not to create expectations, in order to be able to do the real service”, she commented.

Food for refugees

Another professional of health, the dentist Satva, said she is open to assist in whatever need that arises from the refugees, whether in the field of dentistry or any other. She has participated in two previous missions, both in Indigenous Communities: she was in the Chaco Mission (Argentina) and in the Paraguay Mission. “We go with the intention of taking help, especially relief of suffering, of the pain of these brothers and sisters from Venezuela, who arrive in very precarious conditions”, said Satva.

A request by the Virgin

Preparing food on the street

The Humanitarian Roraima Mission was requested by the Virgin Mary, in a message transmitted on last October 24, through the Friar Elías del Sagrado Corazón, a visionary monk from the Grace Mercy Order. In principle, the mission will occur during the whole month of November. It takes p lace in the extreme  North of Brazil, in the cities of Boa Vista and Pacaraima, the latter on the border with Venezuela, and the main door of entrance of refugees from Venezuela to Brazil.

Along with the missionaries of the Fraternidade, volunteers from the Network-of-Light groups of Boa Vista and of the North-East of Brazil participate.

This mission in Roraima occurs at the same time as another mission coordinated by the Fraternidade: the one conducted by the Divine Messengers in Central America and Mexico.
