This contingent mission of Fraternidade had the main objective of supporting the reconstruction and social recovery carried out by the Rwandans in the process of reconciliation involving the ethnicities Hutu and Tutsi, after the genocide that left thousands dead in the ‘90s. The volunteers of Fraternidade rendered service to the poorest, working with the Missionaries of Charity of Mother Teresa of Calcutta, especially in the region of Kibeho and in the capital of Rwanda, Kigali, epicenter of the genocide. They communed with the culture of one of the oldest nations in the world, learned from their power of overcoming and forgiveness and, in the silence of selfless action, sought to convey the feeling of respect, consideration and valuing of such a strong people.
