Celebrating the Day of Nature, today on October 4, we bring forward some material on the activities of love and care for the Plant Kingdom developed by the Nova Terra (New Earth) Light-Community, affiliated with the Fraternity – International Humanitarian Federation (FIHF).
The work with the Plant Kingdom in the Nova TerraLight-Community has never been so active as now. The group formally approached this task in 2019, through the agroforestry impulse implemented at that time in an area of the community.
The group then expanded and committed itself even more to the Plant Kingdom, not only for the production of food, but also to provide loving service for this Kingdom, and because of the expression of beauty, healing and harmony it so abundantly offers.
In 2021, the Solar Garden was created, which is very close to the main kitchen of the Light-Community, facilitating the flow and enlivening both environments. Also a nursery for the seedlings was built there, and this area grew and expressed itself in gratitude and harmony.
“We have already produced and harvested beetroot, lettuce, arugula, tomato, chives, parsley, cabbage, carrots, turmeric, taioba (arrow leaf elephant ear), corn, manioc, yacon (water root), among others, in addition to the fruit trees that were already here in the Light-Community, and which now receive all the care and management required. They are the citrus fruits: lemon, tangerines, limes, oranges, and then bananas, avocados, guava, figs and other types of fruit,” say the members of the Light-Community.
The Plant Kingdom is a fertile soil for the education process of the children, who when seeing this movement, naturally approach it and follow the development from the seed to the fruit, tasting this lesson with love.
“Recently we have been focussing on expanding the garden, which already has herbs such as lemon grass, boldo, lavender, rosemary and pelargonium, which are used for making subtle and herbal medications that the community produces and distributes free of charge,” they explain.
All efforts to make the community completely sustainable in their food continue to be made. This impulse for the path of sustainability is only just beginning; that is why “we are going through a large expansion in the plantings, and for that we need to update our implements and tools, besides hiring a specialized labour force,” they express.
