The activities of the Fraternity – International Humanitarian Federation (FIHF) are of a voluntary, humanitarian, neutral, environmental, cultural and philosophic nature, and combine perfectly with the motivations of the EuSouSolar company, which is to provide solutions for the generation of clean and sustainable energy by means of the Sun.

Following the example of other partners, João Carmona, managing partner of EuSouSolar, came into contact first with the teachings of José Trigueirinho Netto (1931-2018), founder of the Humanitarian Fraternity (FIHF). As he explains: “I got to know about the work of Trigueirinho through a dear friend of many years. I slowly began to understand better, got closer and began to identify with all that movement of service to fellow beings.”

In January of 2021, the implementation of the first project of that partnership was carried out in one of the affiliates of the Humanitarian Fraternity (FIHF), the Francis of Assisi Park, where EuSouSolar installed photovoltaic panels, which should provide savings of 90% in the electricity bill, besides helping in the preservation of the environment.

The Francis of Assisi Park is a non-profit institution, dedicated to the care of animals. At this time, it has about 360 dogs in its shelter, which are treated with dedication, care and dignity, as could be witnessed up close by João, who was positively touched, “I was very impressed by the dedication that everybody – director, staff, volunteers, students – devotes to the care and well-being of the animals. It is a quite demanding activity, since the animals require daily care, regardless of whether it is a weekend or holiday. Really, just love in motion can explain the dedication of everybody, and the joy that is felt there.”

The motivation for collaborating expanded, since the entrepreneur explains that other projects of this partnership are already being evaluated: “Me and my partner Paulo have a great desire to serve a greater good, helping the Humanitarian Fraternity (FIHF) in what it needs concerning renewable energy and the training and qualifications in this area.”

Disinterested Service and Sustainability for the Common Good

A part of the whole philosophy of the Humanitarian Fraternity (FIHF) since its foundation, and of all its affiliates, is the search for high standards of existence, establishing them in all relationships, serving both the Kingdoms of Nature and the planet as a whole in a selfless way. At the same time, a part of the philosophy of EuSouSolar is to undertake the use of sustainable energy, seeking to preserve the environment, contributing to leaving a positive legacy for future generations.

In this way, the present partnership affirms the purpose of both entities, and shows the importance of this union for the expansion of a service that looks to the common good, according to what João clearly highlighted when describing this partnership: “The fact that we can serve a fellow being through the support of the Humanitarian Fraternity (FIHF) is an opportunity and a blessing. It is a way of serving with multiplying effects. We believe that only through the uniting of efforts for the good will we be able to make a difference in the direction humanity is taking today. The partnership with the Humanitarian Fraternity (FIHF) allowed us to take a small step in that direction.” And he adds: “May many more come!”

Concerning service, it is also worth mentioning the following definition of Friar Luciano, general administrator of the Humanitarian Fraternity (FIHF), in his book, Silêncio, ó Amado Silêncio – “To serve is the vocation of our soul, and on maturing, we will begin to interact with the situations and with others, always seeking to give priority to what may provide well-being and harmony to others and to evolution in general, resizing our needs.”
