With the purpose of supporting the attendance to the poorest carried out by the Missionaries of Charity of Mother Teresa of Calcutta, volunteers of Fraternidade moved to the region after an earthquake of epic proportions[WU19]. The actions of humanitarian assistance concentrated on institutions of help in the city of Kathmandu, capital of Nepal. This mission served as the opening for the humanitarian service that Fraternidade would begin to offer with all the other missions from then on, this branch of service having become one of the pillars of its activity. Activities:

  • Help in a home for the elderly with 250 internees.
  • Assistance to children at a local hospital specialized in children cancer.
  • Playful and recreational activities and various works at an orphanage.
  • Works of cleaning and adjustment of facilities.
