As long as the person is polarized on material planes, they remain susceptible to the feeling of fear. Subconscious fears are more numerous than the conscious and they are directly or indirectly connected to the fear of death, to attachments and to incomprehension of the true nature of the being, which is immortal.
Fear of death
Esoteric psychology mentions some basic fears of the human being: the fear of death, the fear of the future, the fear of physical pain and fear of failure. The word death is inadequate to express what really takes place during the process of transition experienced by the soul upon passing from the physical, emotional and mental levels to more subtle levels. It is connected to something that ends, when, in reality, according to the natural and spiritual laws of life, everything transforms itself and nothing is definitive. Fear of death is a result of ignorance of these laws.
Fear of the future
Fear of the future derives from the mind’s ability to anticipate, which later becomes intuitive perception. Until this transformation takes place the mind projects onto the present anxieties, imaginations and remembrances. Emanations from collective psychism can also be absorbed by the individual, who may take them as theirs; thus they have apprehensions and feelings not originated in themselves.
Fear of physical pain
Fear of physical pain, on its turn, derives from registers of past experiences, registered in the subconscious; it may emerge in a clear way or act subliminally. Many diseases aggravate through this fear; nevertheless, it is gradually dissolved as the individual loses the identity with their bodies and rises spiritually.
Fear of failure
Fear of failure derives from the need of self-affirmation of the personality. It disappears when the latter is permeated by the soul, as the individual then understands that everything positive and correct done by them is in reality conducted by inner, higher energies, which act through them, whereas the inadequate deeds are done humanly.

Striking experiences in other incarnations, due to the powerful action of natural cataclysms, violent deaths provoked by fire, by water and by representatives of the Animal Kingdom, as well as hunger, plagues, mutilating diseases, super-human tensions, among so many other conditions, have introduced their vibrations on the atomic level of the physical body, have influenced part of the genetic structure and have perpetuated.
As earthly matter heads to subtler levels, and as human structure also loosens, such nuclei can emerge, in part, in the external consciousness of the being. When the individual begins to contact this material in a more direct manner, they begin to experience moments of great anguish and despair, which deeply disturb their psychic structure”.

As fear stems from the involvement with the forces of matter and its illusions, the individual fears nothing when they are united to their own essence. The limitation of consciousness to the personal sphere shelters the idea of possession, even of the bodies. If the creature silences the voice of attachments, of curiosity and of possession, they have nothing to fear.
