In Parts 1 and 2 about Vegetarianism, we saw that the animal slaughtering on a large scale, perpetrated still today in a brutal way to consume its meat, already goes beyond the karmic debt of the Animal Kingdom with the Human Kingdom. The shocking atmosphere of horror, of violence and of atrocious suffering, in an impious condition of abuse of power, is not being positive for the planetary Consciousness. The animal Consciousness clamors for mercy, and the arousal of Vegetarianism, on a global scale, has been a response to this appeal.

As a human being, we inherit an animal body, we inhabit a body with Strong animal traits, which must be helped to clear itself, to reeducate itself, to transform and to subtilize itself. Little by little, it can become a more sensitive vehicle, capable of radiating subtle energies of more internal nuclei of the being. This animal element, when not trained and not transformed, can exert much force and represent a serious obstacle to the evolutionary process of each one. The animal karma to the human being is being transmuted and rebalanced, but it is urgent to collaborate more for this to take place. As it is, it is not being good for the Planet!

Vegetarianism, from the occult point of view, presentes still other repercussions over the human consciousness. The subtle potential of nutrition with vegetables widens the understanding of the Spiritual Laws and their application in practical life, which so much lacks in our materialistic civilization. The Plant Kingdom is the transmitter, the transformer, of an etheric-cosmic fluid (prana) that makes us capable of receiving the energy from the divine levels. It is the most evolved Kingdom, the one which really has fulfilled its divine mission here on Earth. The Cosmic Rays that participated in the manifestation of the primordial attributes of this Kingdom are: Magnetism (2nd Ray, of Love-Wisdom); Harmony (4th Ray); Upliftment (6th Ray, of Devotion), acted also in the creation of the human being, what established an effective bridge of energy communion between these Kingdoms.

It is necessary to eat living food so that we can continue to live. This is not a matter of our choice, but rather a necessity that Nature (God) imposed to us. We have no freedom to choose. But we are free to reduce our degree of destruction and the amount of pain that we provoke. It is less destructive to pick a green or a fruit than to assassinate an animal – and there is also less suffering. This is the answer before the argument that when we are vegetarian we continue to destroy life.
