Liberation from guilt

One of the first steps for us to liberate ourselves from guilt is to better understand why we make mistakes. In general, we make mistakes through ignorance. We make mistakes because we ignore the higher laws of existence, because we are used to the most immediate and material laws.

Another important point is to balance our faults with opposite acts to those done, because if we are willing to balance our faults, the higher laws will bring us the opportunity of balancing what we did. It is up to us only to recognize the opportunity and, before it, act in a new way.

Guilt attracts repentance. Although it is not enough, repentance is a fundamental attitude for healing and forgiveness, because it displaces the forces that motivated the incorrect act. Without this displacement, we may repeat the mistake – in that sector of life or in another – and in this way we may not attain the sought after balance and our will becomes feeble. Forgiveness is an opportunity of balance past deeds and it comes when there is decision to take the right direction. With the power of decision, we can eliminate the feeling of guilt and we can practice opposite acts.

In reality, error does not exist, but only acquired experience, learning, from which maturity arises.  Guilt comes when we do not express the potential that exists in us yet. We  must therefore assume this inner potential, and from this emerges a great feeling of freedom. There is no external situation that can prevent our evolution.
